"Because of Thy Son," Alma 33:15-17

 Alma 33:15-17

Now as a second witness of the Son of God, Alma turns to the words of Zenock in quoting this simple verse:
For behold, he said: Thou art angry, O Lord, with this people, because they will not understand thy mercies which thou hast bestowed upon them because of thy Son. (vs. 16)
There is a footnote on the word "will". The people will not understand the mercies of the Lord bestowed upon them because of the Son. That footnote leads to a very interesting discussion in 2 Peter 3 on the long-suffering of the Lord.

At least twice within that passage, the phrase "the resurrection of the just" had been added back into the passage in the Joseph Smith Translation.
